About IESEG

IESEG School of Management is a French Business School located in Lille and Paris, France. IESEG School of Management is member of Lille Catholic University, which is a cooperation structure between fully independent institutions that have their own legal personality. IESEG School of Management is a truly international Business School. The internationalization policy of the School reflects in its faculty: 70% of its permanent faculty is non-national and accounts for 17 different nationalities, and more than 50 visiting professors come from abroad to lecture the Master students. IESEG has developed partnerships with 149 foreign universities in 42 countries and therefore proposes a wide range of exchange programmes to its students, professors and researchers. A distinctive feature of the school is that the MSc programmes are fully taught in English. A big part of the bachelor programme is also taught in English. IESEG is much respected by the corporate world and enjoys very high ratings in the rankings of business schools published by the French managerial and educational press. Currently there 1.976 students are enrolled in the Grande Ecole Programme of the IESEG School of Management for the academic year 2009-2010. IESEG recruits its students through a very selective entrance examination. As IESEG reaches the top of the best national Business School rankings the number of applicants dramatically increases over years. In 2009, 5.378 applicants took the examination for 465 places to enter the School’s Grande Ecole programme in its 1st year. Quality certifications
IESEG School of Management has been awarded the best quality certifications delivered by the French State. IESEG’s degree (programme “Grande Ecole”) is accredited by the State (the degree bears the “VISA” of the State) and has been awarded the so-called “grade of master” for the longest duration which is legally possible. The “grade de master” is the most selective national accreditation since it can only be awarded to the best State-accredited degrees, obtained after 5 years of higher education following secondary education; this grade de master is awarded for a duration which increases with the quality of the school. These national accreditations reward the excellence of the School’s teaching and research activities. Among the numerous (more than 200) Business Schools in France, only 96 are accredited to deliver a State degree, among which only 61 deliver a degree awarding the “Grade de Master“. Not only does the IESEG delivers this “Grade de Master” but it also belongs to the very selective “Conférence des Grandes Ecoles” which gathers the 39 most prestigious French Business Schools selected by their peers. Recently the School was also granted EQUIS and AACSB eligibility.

Research
IESEG School of Management has its own research center, and includes efficient research teams in Marketing, Finance and Monetary Macroeconomics, Human Relations Management, Audit Control, Microeconomics and Productivity Analysis, Strategy and Law. The quality of IESEG’s research is recognised at the highest level by the French government: the research center of the School is indeed part of a scientific cooperation structure, LEM (“Lille Economics and Management”) which is accredited by the prestigious CNRS (the French public agency to promote scientific research). History
IESEG School of Management was founded in 1964 by Professor Michel FALISE who came from Harvard University (USA) and later became President – Rector of the Lille Catholic University. The project of the School was to build management education on very sound intellectual base grounds in the fields of social sciences, economics and quantitative methods. This approach was expected to combine the vocational orientation of the existing French Business Schools, with the scientific rigour of university education. This project was very original and innovative in the French environment at that time.

2008 was a year of tremendous growth for the School, which opened its Paris campus. In September 2009, IESEG Paris campus has been relocated in La Grande Arche at La Défense, at the heart of the largest European business district.
